I had a brain fart and it has been along time since I really did any alarm installs.I am not sure of the configuration of how the positive and negative and inputs are on a relay.I am adding shaved door locks on an S-10 Pickup and it is going to added to my alarm system.

Can anyone please help?

what are you adding? i mean... the alarm probably has keyless entry? or.. are you adding door locks and actuators?

Always hold the relay with pin 30 facing down and this will never be wrong. If there is current that runs from side to side, current will also run up and down(top and bottom), if there is no current side to side, top and middle will be connected.

Need a negative output but all you have is positive output? Left(85) Exsisting + connection. Right(86) ground. Top(87) ground, bottom(30) the ground output you need.

Need a positive output but all you have is a negative output? Left(85) Exsisting - connection. Right(86) 12V. Top(87) 12V, bottom(30) the 12V output you need.

though with most aftermarket actuators/door locks, you have a reverse polarity system. They both sit there dead - , but when the switch is thrown up, one is + and the other is -, but when the switch is tossed down, they are reversed.

2 relays, wired side by side. 85 = - output from alarm(lock on relay 1/unlock on relay 2) 87 & 76 on both +12V. Connect center pin(87a) to the wire comming from the switch in the drivers door, connect the bottom(30) to the wire going to the lock motor. Yes... take the lock/unlock wires that run from the switch to the actuator and cut them in half, be sure to hook the switch side up to 87a on each relay(1 wire to each relay) and the actuator side to 30 on each relay(1 wire to each relay)
