ok, the thing is, when you use the keyless entry, the dome light comes on, and then fades out. well, im using the dome light to control my underbody lights, I just hooked up the relay and the lights come on when i use the keyless entry(the relay clicks when activated, normal) and when the lights fade out, the coil inside the relay should click again to shut the power off, well, it doesn't just click, since the power coming from the domelight fades out, the relay makes this clicking sound that lasts for about 3-4 seconds and the lights fade out. Is this safe? Is there another way i should go about doing this?

I think that noise you are hearing is from the coil, and the contact clicking together..I don't think the relay is capable of just slowly turning itself off...So it is limiting the current to slowly turns your underbody kit off.

The problem isn't damaging to anything, but it is anoying and may cause the relay to fail prematurely. Install a 1000 micro-farad polarized capacitor across the relay contacts along with a diode on the relay's positive side of the coil. Make sure to point the white stripe of the diode towards the relay and connect the positive of the capacitor to the positive of the relay and the negative to negative. This simple circuit will cause the relay to activate without the delay and noise.
