air compresser relay

just looking to wire up a relay for an air compresser that pulls 17 amps and I will have a toggle switch to turn compresser on and off just lookin for what wires go where????

Also depending on your setup make sure you use another relay between the pressure switch and the compressor. Don't attempt to connect your compressor directly to the pressure switch it will burn up the switch. Mike

had setup hooked up before but I did not wire it anyways I remember only one relay being used but when I had new setup put on the shop snagged my relay and all the old wires so I cant remember sh*t lol  I know there is 2 plugs on the pressure switch but not shure what is what so maby a little more help.  My setup on here is compressor to power switch to tank with only two bags so I see that there is 2  positive wires on the relay so I need to do power to toggle switch or the relay first and then I take it one of the wires go to the tank  but what about the other terminal on the pressure switch??

Basically turn on the toggle switch if the pressure is lower than the pressure switches cutoff point (ie: tank not full), 12volts will flow through the pressure switch and activate the relay. In turn the relay will switch high current 12volts and turn on the compressor. When enough pressure builds up the pressure switch will cut the flow (ie: tank full) which stops powering the relay turning off your compressor. 1 tip is instead of the toggle switch just take that lead to an ignition or accessory wire at your ignition harness so that the setup comes on and off when the car is running. You don't want to be running the compressor with the car off it's not good for your battery.. You do NOT want to connect a toggle switch directly to your compressor because you would have no idea how much pressure you are running which is just asking for trouble. Hope it helps, Mike
