whats up guys?

im a new member here, and very new to relays, outputs and all the other good stuff, so sorry if my question seems stupid

ok , i have hydraulics on my car (the type of cars in cali that you see bouncing up and down),,,well i got this idea of wanting to operate them from my keychain.   So i buy a cheap keyless entry system, with plans on just hooking up the lock, unlock and pop trunk function to my hydro pumps and dumps.  Well it didnt work, cause the keyless entry system gives a neg output,,,i need a 12volt possitive output.  I did some study, and found relays can change the outputs to pos

to make this long story short,,,what relays do i need? how much do they cost?, and how do i wire them?,,,,i want to use the lock button to send a 12volt pos signal to a pump ,to raise the front,,,,and the unlock button to send a signal to a toltaly different pump to raise the back,  and the trunk botton to lower the car

can this be done ???   thanx for the help

You sure can hook up the hydros to the remote entry. What are your specs on the hydros? I have six batteries, 2 pumps, 4 dumps, 10 switches. I hooked up a regular toy car remote control  so that i can raise and lower my car. Tell me and I will draw you a diagram on how to hook up your system.

I cant get the picture to work. In it i have the diagram to raise the front and back, but since i do not know if the trunk release is positive or negative u can get the idea on how to do that part from the diagram. I will email you the diagram.

Got it to work! You will need 3 relays that you can find at an electronics store or an auto parts store.

thanx for the help cyborg,,,i really apreceate it

i have a few lowriders,,,the car im working on now is a 79monte carlo,,,2pumps, 6batts

so you use a toy car remote?,,,good idea, that a lot cheaper than my keyless entry system

i actually got it to work ,right after i posted the topic,,,,i was so anxious to get it working, i went and got a relay from radioshack,,,and wired it up like the diagrams for converting neg to pos,,,and it worked,,,,so i have, lock button to raise the front, unlock for the back,,,and trunk, to lower the whole car

also i noticed,,your diagram is a little different than the one i used,, which is this one https://www.the12volt.com/relays/page1.asp ,,,so does yours change the way it works or anything,,,,i very new to this (if you havent noticed),,,,,thanx for your help
