Hi,
I was looking at some relays and one of the specs is "Coil Rating": 12V and 160mA. Does that 160mA mean the "turn on" current draw or is it a maximum that the relay can handle? Thanks,

That is the current the relay will consume while activated.
The rating you are looking for is the open / close contact rating, whether it be 20, 30, 40 amperes.
