Like the title said. I would like to add a 18” Neon light in my trunk, and I would when I open my trunk, the trunk light and neon light would come on at the same time.

Here is my problem, there are 2 wires coming to the trunk light, White and Red.

The White is constantly hot and the Red is Ground when the trunk opened and Hot when the trunk closed. The Neon light has Hot and Ground wires, I tried 30A relay but have no luck, am I missing something here?

Please show me how.

Thanks in advance

thanks hotwater....

by using your informations, i came up a way to make it work...

here how i do it....basicly i hooked up the white (hot) wire to 30 and 86, 87 to the neon (+) wire and 85 to the red (-)  with a diode because the red wire is - only the trunk opened and + when the trunk closed. it worked like a charm....

once again thanks for your help...
