Im assuming its a push button starter?

It would normally be OPEN, push the button (ground on a relay hopefully) and the car starts!

what pins on the relay do you have hooked up to what? also, looks like ur name is honda, so depending on the year of the car you might have a transponder, which means the car wont crank unless you have your factory key in the ignition, and if you just have one buton for the starter and no relays for ignition you prolly have to have the key forward too. (you probably already know all this, but i'm just saying it encase) tell me ur pin outs and i'll tell ya if i think i can help,

You have the starter motor side and the key side on the wrong pin on the relay.
