I'm having trouble with my drivers side door for some reason when the door is closed and when the alarm locks the doors it (drivers side only) gives off a really loud squelch(spelling) so loud that it masks the chirp from the siren. could this be the motor is bad or the relay? it all started when it got really cold one day and i disarmed the alarm it made the noise and hasn't gone away since. also when the door is open and if i press down on the button to lock the doors with the door open it will lock then unlock and stay unlocked, if i close the door i get the noise. p.s i also sprayed the heck out of it with silicon spray grease at work and still had noise. HELP THIS CRAP IS DRIVING ME CRAZY.

Did the car come with factory power door locks or are there after market actuators in the door ? The sound that you are hearing might be the actuator . Convetionally, if the OEM motors burnout, it doesn't make any loud noises ( just a whirrring sound ) . Another possiblility would be that the bearing in the OEM motors are seized up and that's what the noise is. You will then have to replace the lock motor.

Hey Bud,

Sounds like a stripped rack and pinion in the door lock motor....sounds like it's time to replace.....sounds like more work on a saturday afternoon....

Prepare your future. It wasn't the lack of stones that killed the stone age.
