Any reason or need to Diode Isolate the solenoid coil in the following diagram?

Thanks, I didn't think so but I figured I'd check after reading a post in the security forum concerning diode isolating.

You really only need the diode when you have discreet circuitry driving the coil.  If you have a switch you'll be fine.

Mostly transistors, as that is what is seen most of the time.

Moving your first 150A fuse before the solenoid instead of after might offer more protection. If something were to short agaist the solenoid terminals or changing out the solenoid you'd be covered.
