Will this work? I tried and can't get it to, are the directions correct. And what kind of rating does the diode need? Thanks.

hi,

use 3 30 amp relays (5 pin type)
wire a latching relay using one like this:
30 ground
place a diode between 85 and 87 with band facing 87
pin 87a goes to pin 86 of second relay
pin 85 goes to 87 of second relay
pin 85 of second relay uses 12 volts from pushbutton
pin 30 of second relay goes to ground.
make a 3rd relay like this:
pin 30 12volts
pin 87 to pin 86 of first relay(latching relay)
pin 85 comes from pushbutton also
pin 86 comes from pin 87 from first relay(latching relay ouput)
this will allow u to pouch the button once and it latches relay to throw a ground out(you can use another relay to change to poaitive if u need) then when u hit button again it will close and disconect from latching relay!!!

NO this circuit will not work,

In the description the you provided, relays #1 and#3 do not stay on using a momentary switch for the pushbutton.

The diode size would be about 1 to 3 amps.

Tom
