I am not familiar with that vehicle, nor can I find any info on it or the cougar.    I need to know a little about the switch, Is it a latching switch?  Meaning if you turn the defroster on, turn the ignition switch off and then turn ignition back on, does the defroster remain on?   Will you be able to remove the switch to access the wires on the back of it?  Do you own or have access to a volt meter?
