I have a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder.  Yesterday, all of the automatic windows stopped working on all doors.  Also, the driver side automatic door locks stopped working, but the front passenger side automatic door lock still works.  The keychain remote still will unlock and lock the doors.  The cruise control was not turning on either.

I recently had work done that involved removing the steering wheel, if that matters.

I checked the fuses in the fuse box under the hood, and everything looked in order.  Unfortunately, that's about all I know to check.  I'm guessing there may just be a loose plug somewhere, but I don't know where to start.  I'm happy to provide more information if it would help.

Thanks.

The other possibility is a broken wire in the door tube, pull the driver's door switch and check.  See if you have power and ground at the switch.

I'm surprised that a broken wire between the driver's door to the body would cause all of the automatic windows in all of the doors not to work.  If that was the case, then I would think that the automatic door lock on the passenger door wouldn't work because the automatic lock on the driver's door isn't working.  But, if that is the case, it is worth a look.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Your reply was rubbish because the locking relays are in the vehicle not the driver's door, also power for the windows are individual, so that wouldn't affect the other doors. Breaking  or corroded wires in the door tubes are extremely common, also check that if there are any joining plugs around the driver's kickwell, make sure they are firmly pushed home.  Had a Mits today where I installed an alarm and the locks wouldn't initially work until I rammed the door plug home.

Sorry, you can NOT post a reply.
