Hello all:

I am requesting help with installing new stereo head unit in my 2009 Toyota Corolla.

The car has a factory radio with no amplifier.

I am trying to install a JVC KD-AVX44 head unit, using a METRA wiring harness.

My problem is that i have a brown wire from the head unit that is labled TELE MUTE. Im not sure where to connect this.

Also, on the METRA wiring harness I have an orange wire with a black stripe. Im not sure where this goes either. The description of the wires on the METRA package does not mention this wire. Which is odd because it's their product.

After searching several internet forums, this place looked like the best place for advice.

Thank you.

Well, I took a chance ad left the two wires unconnected. Everything seem to work just fine.

the tele mute wire is basically a mute wire that could get connected to a aftermarket bluetooth to mute the radio during a phone call.

the ORANGE / black wire is for the illumination control you can just leave this disconnected as it is mostly for navigation units to dim the map when the light are turned on.

make sure to tape or cap off both wires.
