Can anyone tell me if there is a wire int he harness that goes to ground when the police impala is placed in park?

We have sirens that have a park kill feature that shuts off the siren when the wire detects ground.  this stops the siren from blaring when you bail out of the car in a hurry.

anyone have any info?

Our patrol cars are 2009 Impala Police models.  We have a couple 2006 models, if anyone knows about them as well.

Thanks.

I don't have the diagrams for the 2009 but believe that are the same as the 2006-07 models. The schematics show a Park/Neutral signal to the ECM that is located inside the air cleaner assembly. The color I have is ORANGE / Black but check before you make a connection. Diode isolate this connection with the band towards the P/N signal wire.

Couldn't you just grab the park/neutral switch wire?

The mode switch is inside the tranny. The easiest place to access this wire is at the ecu.
