Does anyone have solid info on these SUV's? Specifically, I am looking for a safe ACC or IGN power source. This will be for rear seat video equipment (low current draw of ~.5 amp max). I'm not too sure about the typical brown and/or white wires running between the Ignition Switch and the BCM. They look to be low current.

The wires at the ignition switch are good to use. If your worried about it use a 5 amp fuse.

Yes, naturally everything will be fused.

Actually, my concern lies with possible damage to the BCM. The ignition harness is fairly short - it's only ~2ft long. It plugs directly into the BCM, which is inside the passenger compartment. It's mounted to the firewall - right above the parking brake. All of the plugs face the floor. It's really very easy to see everything. However, I am concerned about overloading the BCM. I cut the factory ign wire (brown) and put my DVM in line to measure the current draw on that circuit. It's only 1.7 amps (engine running, all vehicle accessories switched on).

I am considering using that brown wire to trip a Bosch relay. I will switch a battery line through the relay.

Thoughts?
