Hi group- Would anyone have wiring diagrams for outside electric mirrors? I want to install a 1995 Camry electric mirror set on my old truck so I can adjust the mirrors from inside. Anyone have diagrams or wiring schematics for a 1995 Camry? I have the mirrors and the switch but the wires appear different color codes.
Thanks,
Dave M

Are there 4 wires going into the mirror?   Can you determine the 2 plugs that go to the mirrors?  Are there only 2 wires left over after you send the 4 wires each to each mirror?

Only three per mirror and a total of 7 in the switch... seems easy enough but can't find a proper schematic. The ones I have found do not have the correct pin IDs or color code. Any help really appreciated,
Thanks,
Dave

Do you have an ohm meter?  If so you need to find out which of the 3 wires of the mirror is the common wire.  Set your meter to ohms and check from wire 1 to wire 2, then wire 1 to wire 3, then wire 2 to 3.  Post your numbers here.

The way the mirror should work is as follows.  One wire has to be common between both motors in the mirror.  One wire will be the up and down motor, the other wire will be the left and right motor.  The Common wire should read the same resistance to each of the other 2 wires.  Once you find the common wire, get a couple pieces of wire and a 3 amp fuse and a fuse holder.  Install the fuse holder on the wire that you connect to the positive terminal of your battery, or 12 volt power supply, this is just to identify wires on the mirror, it is not to be installed in the vehicle.  Connect the common wire to the negative terminal of the battery.  Now briefly touch the fused power wire to one of the wires of the mirror, watch the mirror for movement.  Now briefly touch the fused power wire to the other wire, notice which way that makes the mirror move.  Now disconnect all wires from the mirror, now connect the fused power wire to the common wire, then briefly touch the ground wire to one of the other wires.  Notice the movement of the mirror.  Then briefly touch the ground wire to the third wire, notice the direction.  When touching the third wire, disconnect from the second wire.  You only use 2 wires at a time.

Let me know if you have all 4 directions of movement.

Do you have the direction switch along with the Left and Right selector to select which mirror you are controlling?

Yes; I have the Up.Dn/R/L switch from the same Camry. Would 'seem' the color codes would match, but they don't. Must have been a terminal between; why they did that who knows.

7 wires on the switch does not seem adequate to adjust both mirrors.  Do you have the switch that has a left, off and right?  The switch that selects which mirror it is going to adjust.

Yes; L/R/U/D, Left and Right Mirror and a Neutral position. 7 wires seemed weird to me too, but a previous post seems right from my thinking about this for a week. One common of the three to each motor, leaving two for movement at each mirror, and power from the main switch. I need a schematic, but it seems two for each mirror if they are bi-polar would be right. I need a schematic.

Have you used a meter yet to see if you can identify the common wire?  I do not have a schematic, but if you are willing to do a little footwork, I am sure I can figure it out.  Is there a mounting hole that could possibly act as a ground contact for the switch?
