I just bought this remote start from a friend who never installed it on his truck... The unit is a Ready Remote 24921.. Im wanting to install it into my 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 QC Cummins... The owners manuel isnt very informative... Especially on a specific vehicle.

Thanks, Kent

Hate to be the one that tells you, but the Ready Remote 24921 Remote Start unit is not designed for diesel engines.  It has no "wait to start" function built in.

Here is a link to the Ready Remote site so you can see the units features and download the install guide :   http://www.readyremote.com/diy.asp

The install guide is very good but generic because it can be installed on a multitude of different vehicles ( except diesels, sorry ).  For detailed wire guides for your specific truck go to Bulldog Security at :  http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/bdnew/vehiclewiringdiagrams.asp   AudioVox is another site that has wire guide listings available.  Here is their link :  http://techservices.audiovox.com/login.aspx   Sign-up is free.

You could probably get around the problem by wiring a DEI 528t timer as a "delay on" for about 5 seconds on the starter circuit.
You should also if you don't have a "hard" tach wire again use an inductive tach "sniffer" such as the DEI 454t.
You have to put the unit's wiring together with "vehicle specific" information probably available on this site.

"Diesel Mode (BLUE) - Cut this loop if you have a diesel vehicle. When cut the remote start will start the   engine about 25 seconds after pressing the button twice.

 Uncut – Gas Mode

 Cut – Diesel Mode"

Straight from the manual.

My apologies.  I completely missed that strap and info in the install guide and I actually installed several of the 24923's a few years ago.  ready remote 24921 remote start? -- posted image.
