Most newer Dodge cars including the Caliber have the ignition system and almost every other system tied thru the CANbus network.
Regardless of which alarm/remote starter you use, you can get a good bypass module such as an idatalink ADS-AL CA that will do the remote start function and also gets the signal from the brake pedal, door triggers, trunk trigger, trunk release, and more without you having to tap the wires directly. Saves a whole lot of time on installing a remote starter/alarm system. All you would need to do is run 12v power from the battery to the alarm/remote starter and the bypass takes cares of the rest.
There are several bypass brands out there, but I personally feel idatalink is the best. Solid, reliable and cutting-edge.
Good Luck!!
