98 gtp: left turn signal wiring schematic

i need to know what color wire is for the left turn signal on a 1998 pontiac grand prix gtp. it would be the wire that comes from the steering column and plugs into a large connector underneath the console. thanks in advance.

Why are you looking for this wire?

currently the wire is loose where it goes into the large black connector underneath the dash. i got to jiggle/move the wires around to get it to blink when i turn the left turn signal on. its a crash waiting to happen if i dont get this fixed.

LOL! The complexities of combined rear stop/flasher (or flasher/reverse). Some people replicate similar for front flashers -cum- parkers or running lights.

Light blue 14 oh those stupid US systems with combined indicators stop lights. Why can't you have separate AMBER indicators like the bloody rest of the world.

Nah - production costs! Besides, they make more money that way (maintenance, spares, aftermarket etc). I used to hate them but recently I have occasionally liked them. Alas my only interest (and hence knowledge) on that issue comes from having newer steering-column switchgear on older vehicles without (in our case) the separate reverse lights (hence my flashers and reverse are combined). That switching was done by the old column switches.    However, it has resurfaced again with my intention to use the side flashers or front flashers as clearance or DRLs, or to turn off the front flasher/parker twin-filament's parker/DRL when flashing on that side. But I have tentatively decided to use a PICs to control SPST relays, or to PWM single bulbs or LED-lights between intensities. But I do like the various solutions I see posted. If it doesn't involve a time delay else use a DPDT switch/relay per side (or rather, 1xSPDT and 1xSPST), then it won't work (except for PICs etc else complex circuitry). If only a J-FET could pass enough bulb current. Then it would be easy!! PS - a J-FET is normally on - it will normally pass current thru itself. It requires a voltage to turn it off. Hence a simple "in principle" solution - the reverse (or stop) current goes normally thru the JFET to the light. The flasher signal turns it off. (That's out of phase, but that has workarounds.)
