Power Window Switch Pack

Hey Everyone; I am new to this forum and it looks like it truly is the answer to all of my electrical questions. I enjoy doing electrical projects on my project cars and I am hoping that some of the more electrically advanced people that frequent this forum might be able to help me on my latest project on my 1990 Jetta GLI Wolfsburg Edition. Because of some changes that I have made to the interior layout of the car, I will be losing the location of the original power window switches that were installed in the centre console of the car. In order to still have power windows, I have found that this window switch from a 1998 Jetta can be made to control 2 out of 4 windows on the car. The issue is that I don't have space in the vehicle to have a second set of switches for the front and rear windows. What I was wondering was if there was some way that I could have a two position toggle switch that could be set so that in position one, the power window switches will control the windows in the front doors and then in the second position, the same 2 window switches will now operate the windows in the rear doors. Mk3 Dashboard Power Window Switches I am really hoping that you folks might be able to provide me with some way make the these two power window switches be connected to a toggle switch so that I can continue to enjoy the convenience of power widows by make a toggling circuit or some other way to have all 4 door windows controlled by a switch pack designed for controlling 2 windows. You could use four relays to switch the motors legs to the window switches by the flip of your toggle switch if each window motor leg rests at ground through the window switch. Relay One 85 to 12V+ 86 to ground from toggle switch 87 to left rear up motor leg 87a to left front up motor leg 30 to 12V+ from left up switch Relay Two 85 to 12V+ 86 to ground from toggle switch 87 to left rear down motor leg 87a to left front down motor leg 30 to 12V+ from left down switch Relay Three 85 to 12V+ 86 to ground from toggle switch 87 to right rear up motor leg 87a to right front up motor leg 30 to 12V+ from right up switch Relay Four 85 to 12V+ 86 to ground from toggle switch 87 to right rear down motor leg 87a to right front down motor leg 30 to 12V+ from right down switch Terminal 85 on all four relays will go to 12V+ ignition unless you can use them with the key off, but you'll need to remember to turn the toggle switch off as not to run down your battery over night. Terminal 86 on all four relays will go to the ground output of you toggle switch. When switched on, you'll control the rear windows. Here is the link to the post on VWVortex: http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?2675766 I hadn't thought about using a set of relays to achieve this goal - I was hoping that there might be a simpler, more straightforward method of attacking this problem. Also, once you have a look at the wiring for the switch, you may find that there is a more direct method for achieving what I am trying to do. I have been wondering if there is any sort of programmable module that I could use to switch between the Forward Windows and the Rear Windows. Thanks; Peter

I'm not sure you will find anything more straightforward or readily available than what I offered, but if you do, it will likely contain four relays inside of it wired as I described above.
