I have a 2006 Ford E250. The alarm installation wiring states I need a diode for each door pin. Are they really needed? And if so what wattage will I need?

Do all the interior lights come on regardless of which door you open when the courtesy lamp switch is in the door position?
Does your instrument panel notify you which door is open, or do you just have the "Door Ajar" light?
If they all come on and you only have the "door ajar" light in the cluster, I see no reason you need to use diodes. The microprocessor in the van will think all the doors are open when only one is open, but so what. You'll never see the difference.
If you just don't want to run wires all the way to the back, it looks like you can get all three wires at the instrument cluster pins 15, 16 and 17. See here:
