Hi everyone,

I had a Clifford Solaris G4 alarm removed for warranty service, and while I was waiting for the part to come back, I took my car into the local Honda dealer for service because of a problem with the door locks. Later that night, I noticed that when I opened the driver door, the courtesy light (the one on the door itself) came on, but neither the dome light nor the dashboard indicator would come on. Little did I know, they cut the wiring harness that the alarm was supposed to be connected to. I didn't find that out until my alarm came back from the manufacturer and I went to the alarm dealer to have it reinstalled. I ended up getting a whole new alarm installed from scratch, since they had to do everything over anyway. The alarm installer got the dome light working again (probably in the process of installing the new alarm), but not the dash indicator.

I took my car back to the Honda dealer when the part they needed to fix my locks came in, and had them look at the dash indicator problem, and got a cryptic note on the work order that says "Possible diode is bad in circuit board. Circuit is good all the way up to circuit board. Will need after-market alarm and stereo removed for further diagnosis." They also gave me this wiring diagram with the diode directly beneath the driver's door indicator light highlighted. That one page doesn't show the entire circuit, so I don't know if what he's saying is actually the problem; after the door lock fiasco (long story), I'm not entirely sure if I can trust the people at this dealership with electric circuits.

Should I go ahead and get the alarm dealer to temporarily yank out my alarm CPU and stereo head unit so the Honda World techie can diagnose the problem with the light? Personally, I think any technician worth his salt should be able to diagnose it with the alarm and stereo in place, unless one or both of them is getting in the way of removing the instrument cluster. What do you think? Can someone here come up with a more complete diagram than the one I was so graciously provided?

One thing I forgot to mention... the light does come on during the ignition sequence, when all of the dashboard indicators come on.
