OkI am a new guy to this forum and am just wanting to let you know what is my installation dilema.

I own a 1991 TOYOTA COROLLA DX  4 door sedan and it was purchased used.It came with a roadmaster cd radio which was after market and was installed probly at home because there was no wiring harnesses connected to the radio just electrical tape to connect wires.

I just recieved a SONY CD700X stereo from my brother and was going to install it but when he took it to CAR TOYS  they re-installed his FACTORY system and disposed of the old harness from the SONY stereo.

Ok my problem comes here,......

I bought a SONY16 PIN RADIO TO UNIVERSAL wiring harness from CIRUIT CITY along with the TOYOTA TO  UNIVERSAL  smart cable wiring harness.

due to beingconfused about the wiring diagram for the TOYOTA`s electrical wiring system,,Idid locate the pos-neg wires for the car`s radio harness(which was cut and missing when car was bought.)

The problem is this,..

The stereo turns on,...the  amplifier  works great,....but when you put the CD into the player,.the cd works great,...but the AMPLIFIER for my speaker box cuts off,...when you take out the cd,...the amplifier is turned on automatically.

Now the amplifeir is a performance technique and has worked great up untill I installed the SONY.

I called the guy who installed the SONY into my brothers car and he heard that the same thing has happened to other folks who have installed the sony stereo in a car and hooked it up to an amp.

what I need to kno is ,...What would cause my AMP to cut out when the CD is turned on,...also where would I find a link with a wiring diagram for the toyota corolla dx 4 door sedan that I could possibly download for free?

does anyone have a support website for car stereo installation from SONY?That would help also.

Thanx and I hope my problem can be solved.

just asking.

You have the power antenna wire hooked up to the remote turn-on.  You need to connect blue/white wire instead of the solid blue wire.  When you play a cd, your power antenna doesn't need power, so your amp is turning off.
Do it right the first time
