installing remote start on a 04 Mustang

I have an 04 Mustang Cobra... (stick shift). I think I want to install remote start on it. I think I need the 555F, 556U or 555u to defeat my PATS...  I am thinking i'd like to get one of the units that does not require a key to be placed inside it. I heard these are really hard to get working, though... The Alarm I have in my car is the M11A... I am also concerned because it is a stick shift, and I dont think there are any wires hooked up to the tranny to let me know if the car is indeed in gear or not...

Can anyone shed any light on this situation?

We have the PKF or PKF1 that will work for the '04 Mustang without loosing a key. Also the 1WAM-S is a manual safe remote starter that will ensure that you will not start in gear when remote starting. Also, if your really concerned about the nuetral safety, there's a wire in the ignition switch that senses for this so you can have it attached through a relay to activate the clutch. If this wire doesn't send a (-) trigger to the relay for the clutch.... no start.Jeff

The remote start that Jeff is talking about is designed for a manual transmission from the start. With the simple cut of a wire in the brain it becomes a auto transmission model. This unit has a system called reservation mode which is a series of checks that must be done to ensure that the manual transmission vehicle will remote start. Meaning you must turn off the vehicle by remote control in order to be able to start it by remote control. What Jeff was talking about is that the the clutch has a switch on it that when you push your clutch in, it activates a switch. All that is done here is that a pulse is sent to this same switch to mimic the action of a clutch being pushed without actually pushing it. If you choose to try and wire up some kind of bypass on the clutch then the vehicle has a much greater chance of being able to start in gear. Do this properly with the proper parts, someone elses life may depend on it.
