I purchase a 92 Mazda Navajo without a radio.  I also purchased a radio to install.  I do not know the wiring codes for the speakers as they are not the original wires in the dash.  The original wires have been cut and in it's place are:

green

GREEN/ black

white

WHITE/ black

grey

grey/black

purple

PURPLE / black

which of these are positve/negative and which speaker does it connect to? Please help this is driving me crazy.

Typically the ones with the stripes are negative.  Typically the right front is gray. Right rear is violet. Left front is white.  Left rear is green. I say typically cause you never know what someone else has done. The good news is hooking the speaker wires up wrong shouldnt hurt anything. There are ways to check which is which. I would try what I gave you at first. If you dont like that come back and ask for more help.
