Hello. Anyone with a photo of the location of the tachometer wire. I know that it's white under a cover next to the battery. But i don't see the color coded connecters as described. I could be looking in the wrong place. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. I have an 2002 chevy tahoe.

The ECM (Engine Control Module) is located near the battery, down low, between the fender and the fan under the black plastic cover.  On the 4.3L, the tach wire is in pin 20 in the connector labeled red.  On the 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L, the tach wire is located in pin 10 in the red connector.

let me know if that help   djram19@yahoo.com

I personally dont go under the hood for the tach wire.  Pull the snap panel around instrament cluster-radio off....the headlight switch can then be popped out...note-becareful not to break the clips use a hook tool or grab close to the clips to insure no damage....now u can see the left side rear of the instrament cluster....there is a harness there gray taped to a carrot holing it to the cluster..inside that gray taped harness is a white wite the is the tach wiere...there is only 1 white in that harness.

Hope this helps ya

Note: why go under the hood of a vehicle if its not needed..... good luck later
