2004 Denali Switched Power lead needed

The trick is, I'd like it somewhere in the center console area... any ideas, other than going to the ignition wiring harness?

There is the factory amp that's there, as well as the rear seat radio/AC/Seat heater controls but all appear to be putting out only 6.82 volts

I'd rather not have to go to the steering column.

Thanks for the fast reply, but that's further than the steering column harness, isn't it?  But maybe it's easier to get to... I'll keep it in mind.

I noticed that when the key turns off the rear audio/ac display turns off, so there's gotta be something going on there that I can tap into that is switched, but darn if I can locate it...

haven't found a power lead that follows the retained accessory power feature that these GMs have. i think those controls are turned on via the data bus in the vehicle.

I did some probing around with my multimeter tonight (haha, bad joke, sorry) and found an unused terminal in the box that you mentioned which was located to the left of the brake pedal.

Detailed pic attached that I took (well it was detailed until I saw the 30k upload limit...what are we in the stone ages here?) which shows the switched terminal, circled in red.

It's at the bottom right of the box... hopefully you can see it.  I'm simply using it to power on/off a DVD player and two video screens, so I can't imagine it pulling much amperage.

well the red didn't appear to show up  (bummer).  i do know on the wires i mentioned, which are labeled as SEO inside the cover of the junction box shown, are good enough for GM to use to power their dealer installed video product a few years back. that's where i saw them used.  they would be upper left in the pic, slightly shadowed.    btw in the connector to the right of the relay, light green is reverse, used for the autodimming mirror.

I can see it in the pic above... look very closely... it's a fuzzy red oval circling the terminal at the bottom right.  That's the one that lost power when I turned off the keys and had a solid 12+ volts when the key was on.
