On that link it says that the starter wire is YELLOW.

There is NO yellow wire in the steering column. Does anyone know the true color of the start wire?

the info for a 98 and 99 i have says yellow too. the info to follow is for a 97 see if this mates up

12volts	red or pink/black	+	ignition harness
Starter	blue / YELLOW	+	ignition harness
Second Starter
Ignition	dk. blue	+	ignition harness
Second Ignition
Third Ignition
Accessory	BLACK/ orange	+	ignition harness
Second Accessory	BLACK/ white	+	ignition harness
Keysense
Power Lock	ORANGE / purple		lt blue plug in driver kick
Notes: Positive trigger on models with factory keyless entry, and 5 wire on all other models.
Power Unlock	pink/purple		lt blue plug in driver kick
Notes: Positive trigger on models with factory keyless entry, and 5 wire on all other models.
Lock Motor
Unlock Motor
Parking Lights+	BLACK / YELLOW		yellow plug in driver kick
Parking Lights-
Hazards
Turn Signal(L)
Turn Signal(R)
Reverse Light
Door Trigger	yellow	-	yellow plug in driver kick
Dome Supervision
Trunk/Hatch Pin
Hood Pin
Trunk/Hatch Release
Power Sliding Door
Factory Alarm Arm
Factory Alarm Disarm
Disarm No Unlock
Tachometer	gry/blk, blk/gry	AC	coil pass. side engine
Notes: Also located as gray/blue at large plug through firewall on drivers side at highest point of firewall, also gray/blue at cluster. Diesel tach wire is gray/black, located at the PCM on the passenger side firewall or in the main harness that runs along the firewall.
Wait to start	ORANGE / black	-	PCM on passenger side firewall
Notes: See DirectFax document 1090. Also located in the main harness that runs along the firewall.
Brake Wire	WHITE/ brown	+	brake pedal switch
Parking Brake
Horn Trigger	dk. GREEN/ red	+	relay at fuse box
Notes: Also BLACK/ red (-) at column or relay.
Memory Seat 1
Memory Seat 2
Memory Seat 3

bring back the rotary phone so i dont have to press 1 to proceed in english
