Tach Wire 2000 GM P/U

having trouble finding tach wire on 2000 gm p/u instructions say should be white wire, 32 pin connector location #9 im assuming that is ecm but the wire at that location is not white also where is best place to connect vacum line

I usually go to the back of the instrument cluster. It's easy to get to ( just 4 - 7 mm bolts ) and no need to go into the engine bay.
