hey guys,

i have a 99 alero with a 2.4L, and i need the actual correct wiring.  someone told me that a 99 DOES NOT use a 3rd ignition hookup, but does use a 2nd accessory wire. and where exactly is the ignition harness on this car located?

and where on the 2.4L is the ignition coil so i can tap into the tach wire there?

any help would definately be appreciated!

Use the wire harness going through the firewall above the driver's kick panel to get most of your ignition wires. The only wire not there is the 2nd IGN wire and this wire you have to go to the back of the radio and is GREEN in color. In the harness going through the firewall you will also find your BRAKE wire as well as your (+) parking light wire.

The tach is located on top of the engine in a 6 or 8 pin plug. It looks like a silver heat sink with a black plug & there's about 5 wires and the tach is the WHITE wire.

ok, the remote start unit im working with a autopage rs660

heres the way the wiring lays itself out

AUTOPAGE RS-660

Red: Remote Start Power 1

Red: Remote Start Power 2

Violet: Starter (+) Output

Pink: Ignition 2 (+) Output

Yellow: Ignition 1 (+) Output

Brown: Acc/Heater (+) Output

there is no 2nd accesory wire hookup, do i just use that wire behind the cd player as the accesory wire, or how do i make this work?
