Hi,

After installing my aftermarket HU, I notice the FM and AM reception is very weak. Someone told me that there is a signal amplifier for the antenna. It looks like the wiring harness adapter do not have this wire to suply power to this signal amp. Can someone please provide the wiring diagram for the Civic 2003 EX Sedan?

Any pictures will be helpful.

Thank you.

None of my sources show a amplified antenna for that vehicle. I do thousands of hondas and personally have never seen this before on that year/model.

several things to do...one is plug in a test antenna to the deck and see if it gets reception...if so its something in the car...if not its a bad tuner. Or..plug another deck into the factory antenna and see if it works.

If for some strange reason this vehicle does have an amplified antenna simply look for any extra wire(s) on the vehicle side of the factory plug. Test to make sure the wire has no voltage on it..generally a power antenna wire will read a slight ground. Jump 12v+ to it with a 1amp fuse for safety. If you have reception you have found the wire. Also you can plug the factory deck back in if you still have it and probe with a DMM to see which leftover wire becomes 12v+ when you turn the deck power on.

But IMO I think theres something else wrong. Best of luck and let us know what you find.
