Customer has a 1995 Mercedes SL 320 and wants a new headunit. The car does have factory BOSE system and I am wondering if I need to bypass the amp or if I can just wire up the euro harness and turn on the amp, please let me know if you guys can help!!

hi,

just wire the harness like you said, and trigger the amp.  all the wiring you need is at the headunit.

Well there is going to be an extra 10-pin plug not used if I wire up a normal harness, I wasnt sure what that was used for or if I needed it, I guess ill wire up the harness and see what happens...thanks

How do I know which is the amp turn on? I saw a Metra harness that used RCA pigtails for the bose system but will it just accept speaker level inputs?

lets see, wire colors at radio harness....RED / white- battery, brown- ground, BLACK/ stripe?- accessory, GREEN/ stripe- speed sense, yellow/black- radio mute, blue/whitr?- amp remote...have i missed any?

...or is the old radio still available and working, use a multimeter or safe test light...the amp remote will only have power (+12v or so) when the radio is turned on.
