I have an avic-d3 and I would like to hook up my factory rear tv on my 2002 Ford Excursion so that the tv in the back displays what I am watching on my D3.
My factory dvd player has an input so I can hook into it and drive it from there. The problem I have is the factory tv and dvd player will not light up without the factory cd player installed. Does anyone know what I need to do to power these two up so I can send my d3 signal back to it?

you have to hook-up the green with black from the back of the radio to 12-volt ing. and that will turn on the factory tv/dvd.

Thanks for the fast reply!  Would you recommend hooking up the hot wire that powers the rado to it?

yes you can do that just hook it to the 12 volt ing.. you can just make a jumper wire with a fuse and hook it up behind the radio

For some reason, when I hook that wire up, it will power the tv up, but for an unspecified time.  It may turn on for 20 seconds, it may stay on for 4 mintutes.  Any ideas?

Put a DVD in the Ford player .... it should stay on as long as the DVD is playing .... provided the battery isn't weak or dead.
