lost power plug,need pinout. 4 wire plug

Do you know how many wires it had on the plug?  And do you know what color the wires were?  Do you have access to an Ohm meter?

I can only assume that the yellow wire is constant, red is switched and blue is remote turn on.  Is this correct?  With your meter set to the lowest ohm scale touch one lead to the metal case of the unit, then touch the other lead to each of the 4 connections, one at a time of course.  One of the connections will show a dead short to the case.  This connection is the ground connection.    To find the constant connection you will need to put the meter on the diode test function.  While holding the black lead to the case or to the ground connection we just found, touch the red lead to the remaining 3 connections.  Write down the reading of each connection.  Now switch the leads, put red on the case and touch black to each connection.  whichever connector has a reading of  (point) 450 to .550 with the leads in one direction but showed a much higher reading in the other direction   (direction = position of meter leads.)  This wire is your constant wire.  You need to solder a wire onto this connection and put a 3 amp fuse on it.  Once you find out that all is OK you may have to go up to a 5 amp fuse but for now the 3 should let us know all is well.  If the blue wire is not the remote turn on wire,   STOP NOW and let me know what it's function is.  If it is the remote output wire we can continue.  At this point you will need a 12 volt source capable of a few amps of current.  In most households this will have to be your vehicles battery.  If you haven't already, solder the ground wire and the constant wire with the fuse holder to the appropriate connections of the unit.  Go to your vehicle and connect those 2 wires.  Check the fuse to make sure it did not blow, if it did blow, do not put a bigger fuse in it's place.  With another wire with a 1 amp fuse in this wire, connect one end to the positive post of the battery, then touch that wire to each of the 2 remaining pins.  With it connected try turning the unit on.  If it does not come on try the other connection.    After all this typing I just realized I have no Idea if this is an indash or an overhead.  We may have a domelight wire.   i was assuming it was an indash unit.  Let me know what color wire served what function.
