I have an 07 f150 and was wondering if the 08 factory rear view camera (located in the tailgate handle bezel) would work with an aftermarket head unit such as the kenwood dnx8120 or if the connections are different.

hi,

the camera operates on 12 volts, which of course won't be a problem.  it's output is NTSC, which is compatible with the kenwood (and other) headunits.  the connector is ford specific, so it'll take a little work there.  probably be best to try to find mating contacts for the connector (ford dealer) and make your own harness to run up to the headunit.

hope this helps

Thanks for the reply. I may try that I have a friend who works for a ford dealer that might be able to help get me a wire diagram and connector end to splice into. Just gotta find out how much $$ for the bezel and camera. Prolly an arm and a leg though.
