I have a customer who has bought a factory ford nav radio out of a 08 ford f-250, and wants it installed into a 06 f-150. I belive the radio harnesses are physically the same but when we plug the radio into the 06, the screen comes on and displays a ford emblem and turns right back off. Is the 08 radio a can bus system and the 06 does not support this? If this is the case is there any way to turn the radio on without the can system?? Any help would be great!!

You are correct, the 08 F series are can-bus. Just like GM trucks, they use data to turn on and off which the 06 truck won't provide. As far as i know, it just won't work...period.
