I was just wondering if anyone has taken apart their playstation 2 to install it in their car. If so how is this done and was it hard to do? I would be concerned about the unit heating up because it has that big assed fan that cools it down. any replies would be appreciated.

Yes I have installed Playstations in vehicles. It is fairly simple really. First off you will need to purchase a 12 volt inverter. This takes 12 volts and steps it up to 120 volts ac current. This will allow you to plug it into power. Mount this in a location that will give it plenty of air flow. Your Playstation can mount near this to plug into it. Then take the yellow video output and run it into your screen. If you have a stereo that has a input set of rca jacks on the back you can feed the sound straight into the radio. If not you will need to buy a fm modulator. This plugs up to your radio anttenna and feeds the sound into the radio.(to hear the playstation you will tune the radio to a set channel) This works really well and is fairly easy to install. There will also be 12 volt wires for the fm modulator but those shouldnt be a problem. Good luck. Brian

Yeah i gots all that done it was pie. but now i'm talking about taking it a step further and actually down sizing a ps2 so that i can custom mount it in my dash. I want to take one apart and put it in my spot where a deck would go and have the deck sit lower.
