This isn't specifically a mobile electronics problem, but does anyone know of a good way to delay a DTV broadcast by 7 seconds or so?

Specifically - the Penguins are having a great year, probably will make the Cup finals.  Play-by-play commentators on Vs. really suck.  Legendary Pens broadcaster Mike Lange is available on the radio - however the radio is delayed by about 7 seconds relative to the TV, creating a huge gap between what you see and what the announcer's calling.  All would be golden if we could delay the component video input from the DirecTV receiver to the TV by the same amount of time.

Any ideas? TIA

DVR?  It would take a little to get it perfect, but you can fast forward and rewind "live" TV giving you any kind of delay you want.

That's a good one Kevin...I'm not sure if they have a DVR setup but I'll ask...am I correct in thinking component video is a digital signal btw?

No, component video is analog.
