1998 camaro. I am   wiring   a new    stereo dvd  gps  unit.I   have    all  but three  wires on the unit (eonon model 905) hooked up. I need to know  what to do with the other three

1: pink  wire : mute

2 orange wire - back uplight

3 brown- parking brake ground

the    GM  harness    has the  following   wires not hooked up"

1 orange- dash lights

2- orange / white dimmer

Am  i correct in assuming i can wire the   p-brake gorund  to the regular  ground  wire and override   the e-brake?

would the pink mute wire hook up to the  dimmer wire?

would the   orange   back   up car  signal wire   hook  up  to  the orang  dash  lights  wire.

can  somebody help me out?

The pink wire of the radio is probably not going to be connected.  Unless of course you have an old fashioned cell phone mounted in a car kit.  The cell phone has a mute output wire.  It would be connected to the pink wire.  But I am guessing you do not have such a phone.

The orange wire of the deck is supposed to connect to the reverse light of your vehicle.  It's purpose is when you are backing your vehicle up, the display will remain oriented properly with your position.  Without it connected, every time you back up, the screen of your gps unit will flip around.

The brake light wire really needs to be connected to your parking brake.  It is illegal in most, if not all states, to watch video while the vehicle is in motion.

wow that was    fast. thanks

one more   question. what about the other two    wires   from the wiring harness? the    dash lights    and the dimmer light  wires? do they need to  be hooked up to anything? if they  are   not  will my    dash lights and dimmer switch still  work?

also forgot one other   question concerning the  gps unit.  i bought this stereo  factory  direct from hong  kong   but their   instructions are the pits- incomplete and broken english LOL

the gps unit has   audio and  video out    cables there are also   two   white  wires- speaker+ and speaker- .are there only used  if  they are wired  to  speaker independant  from the stereo   system  or do i need to connect them to my white speaker    wires on  the harness. seems like the   rca   audio and     video wires would take  care of the sound.

that is the only other wiring  question i have for this  unit.   as you can tell i am a bit of     a novice at this. have   wired in a couple stereos in the past but   nothing with all these features: am, fm, cd, dvd ,gps, bluetooth , tv tuner sub and   sd card slot

You need to insulate the 2 orange wires on the harness. They feed voltage to the lighting circuit in the factory radio. Some aftermarket radios have illumination and dimmer wires. Chances are this radio does not have these wires.
Do not connect the white wires with the other speaker wires. They may be for a separate, navigation only speaker. Hook the unit up without connecting that set of wires, try the navigation, if it does not prompt you before you get to an intersection, connect a speaker to that set of wires and see if it will now prompt you.
