Hey guys. I am adding a backup cam to the factory nav system in a 08 denali truck.  I am needing a radio pin out so i can find the reverse input or something similar to activate the video when the truck is put into reverse. thanks in advance.

I am pretty sure that there is no 12 volt trigger to tell the unit that the vehicle is in reverse. It is controlled by the DATA from one of the computers in the vehicle. I have no idea who the manufacturer is, but we do sell aftermarket units that are compatible with the data system.

Yes it is data controlled. You need to visit your dealer to have it turned on. They will plug a TECH2 into the truck, download the trucks info to it, then take the TECH2 and connect to a PC in thier shop. On the PC they connect to GM's website and make the changes, then load the info back on to the TECH2. After that they plug back into the truck and upload the info to the BCM and the changes take effect. It's a stupid process but a way for GM to keep track of BCM mods taking place. You are talking an hours labor from your dealer, under 100 bucks...
