hello,

i installed a rear camera on my 04 tahoe and it works fine. now i wanna wire it up to a switch so i can use when my flip down monitor is down(it blocks my rear view) how would i do that? would i need the 3 prone switch or the 2 prone? and how would i wire it up?

single throw(2 prong) switch will do it. You need to find the reverse signal going to your screen and tap into it. Run this wire to one terminal of the switch and run an ignition wire to the other, You need to add a diode to the reverse wire before the switch to prevent the lights from coming on when you turn the switch on.

I went to rad** shack and bought a diode, but i dont know how to hook them up.can u please tell me how?
