I have a Ford F550 6.0 Diesel that has a backup camera system from Obserwiew that is hard wired to my horse trailer.  Two cameras.  One back up and another inside the horse box.  Problem is with the monitor.  The monitor shorts out internally and have no picture.  Wired to a 12v switched source and through one of the dash switches so I can shut it off at start up.  Two monitors have bit the dust. Neither time did the fuse blow.  One went zap after a week or so and the other immediately after install.  Any help?

Does the switch also power the coil of a relay?

It does not go through a relay outside to monitor that I am aware of.
