I just bought a panasonic factory overhead dvd system that I will install in the overhead of my 1999 gmc sierra 1500.  my plan is to remove existing overhead console and mount the dvd there.  The wiring harness was cut and I have an orange, a pink, a black with white strip wire, and a bundle of wires that are a shield, green with white stripe, black with white stripe, and brown with white stripe.  I was hoping someone had  a wiring diagram they could email me.  It has been a while since I installed a setup, the last one was a 03 ford expedition that integrated with the factory cd and rear controls and i could not have done it without the help from this great site.  Any information would be appreciated as it is hard to make time to go to dealer and ask for diagrams.  Thanks for the input.

I found the pinouts for the dvd, seems it might not work with my 99 gmc due to the data bus pink wire, any one done this or know if i can replace the dvd with aftermarket and integrate into the screen?

i just pulled the stock radio from my 1999 gmc sierra, delco m#16240035. Factory radio has auxillary cd player in center console and speed sensing volume control. When i pulled it out, there is a connector on the left side rear that has all the same wires, has from l to r, pk, gry, shield, gn/wht, bn/wht, bk/wht, bk, gn, and orange. I tied to the orange and black after confirming they were 12V and ground, then hooked to pink. was able to get dvd to accept disc and eject disc, no power up of monitor though. Is it because the pk is not data bus, I have no clue about that or when they started that. Any suggestions on this would be appreciated.

I did try a Buick DVD for my old buick regal. Which is installed on my dashboard. Ever tried OEM DVD, the quality of OEMS are much better than non OEMs. But for my old car, I think a non oem is enought to get entertainment. With GPS, dual zone, rearview, blutooth, radio funciton and so on. Love it. buick DVD
