I have a Clarion NX405E to fit and the manual states that the GPS antenna should be 50cm away from the main head unit or the reception may be impaired.I have never heard of this before.It wasn't mentioned with my previous kenwood unit I had.

Has anyone here had any experience or problems with Clarion units with the antenna mounted close to the unit, how important is it?

There is no Clarion technical helpline or email address on their website so I can't ask them directly.
