installing overhead moniteors

JUST WANTING TO KNOW THE BASICS ABOUT INSTALLING AN OVERHEAD MONITOR. I KNOW HOW TO WIRE THEM JUST NEVER INSTALLED ONE!

Not all install the same way but the majority have power connectors,  RCA connectors for left and right audio inputs plus one for video input.  So it's not much different from home audio/video.  There might be some that have a remote input wire.  In a car an overhead is pretty much useless because it blocks rear view so headrest monitors work best.  In a van however it's a different story but keep in mind that it must be REAR seat entertainment,  that the driver isn't distracted while driving.  If it's a leased vehicle keep in mind that the customer would probably like to keep his kit when he returns the van and he would probably object to cutting a large hole in the headliner.  For these customers I just use two screws through the headliner with a backplate and if we remove the monitor it's easy to hide the holes by rubbing the material lightly. 

the over head screen module comes with a metal plate that sits on the other side of the headliner... just place that plate over where you want the screen and attach the screen though the liner and into the plate... its kinda like a clamp... i hardly ever use this because its easier to use some small drywall anchors... but this is the better way (with the plate)
