I am overwhelmed by the amount of companies that do fleet tracking. Can anyone enlighten me as to which way to go please.

I've done a bunch of the @Road (http://www.atroad.com tracking systems. The basic ones (most common) are just an antenna on the roof, and module under the dash, and power, ignition, and ground. We don't purchase them the companies always order the products themselves and we just install them so I don't know much about the different options. I know with the basic ones the company can track them on the internet so see where they are. Only pain is all the ones I do in order to install the antenna you have to drill about a 3/4" hole through the roof to run the antenna cable in. Not a HUGE deal but I definately don't prefer drilling through roofs. You really didn't give too much detail as to what kind of info you wanted so I hope this helps!

It seems to me that there should be a huge market for these. Is the market fairly untouched at this point? Or do most companies who need them, have them?

Good question..Your guess is as good as mine..I would guess most large companies already have them at this point (Sears, etc.), but there's always other smaller companies that are getting into the habit and always expanding their fleet. (Large companies always expanding as well.) I don't know if there's a ton to be made off of them, but you have to consider if you do a dozen at one place then it does add up. Like I said we don't order the products I assume you get in touch with the company that sells the systems and get on their list and then when someone in the area needs one, they are referred to you for the installation. Just a guess I really don't know for sure. Is anybody else involved with these or no???? Either way good luck with it.
