I'm currently trying to install the Alpine CVA 1000 into a 2002 Olds Alero. I know this is an older model. First, I need to know how to remove the Delco factory radio. Do I just cut through the black anchor cable holding it in? Do I cut the wires leading into the 20pin plug in the back of the Delco radio so I can use them for the Alpine's wires? Please! I need help!!!!!

Here is the radio removal instructions for an Intrigue which is basically the same as an Alero and Grand Am of the same years. What you want o do is piggy back the harness wires coming off the back of the OEM radio ( do not cut harness ) so that you can replace the OEM stereo without having too much trouble in the future. You can also get a wiring harness for the car that plugs into the OEM harness and it will have all the power, ground and speaker wire pre-marked for easy installation.
