I'm having trouble with a constant hissing coming from AUX channel on Alpine CDA-9812RB Headunit.

I have the proper Alpine KCA-121B Ai Net - RCA lead connected to a portable DVD player, but even without the lead connected there is still a lot of hissing.
I have emailed Alpine technical support but have had no replyso far, so I thought I would try on here.
Thanks
