Hi guys,

I'm thinking of getting a pioneer AVX-P7300DVD  7' monitor and DVD, I want to also get pioneer DEH-P860MP head unit. I want to use the head unit for sound cd/ mp3 and such and the monitor only for dvd and the screen. I might hook up my xbox at a later date still undecided as of now.

Do I need this AVM-p8000r. it seems everone that has this monnitor used this wthing. But its so expensive I might just for get both and get the better monitor/ dvd from pioneer that does everything. The price will be the same if i have to get the AVM-P8000R.

Thanks again for all your help, Hollis

no, you do not need the 8000R it is only used when you don't have a master pioneer unit.

Long time ago, I also thought about getting headunit under my pinoeer screen.

Do not do it and not worth the trouble.  You will need to spend extra $$$ buying a special line signal detection switch, so that will detect line signal and switcso that you won't have a case where both line signal will be going into your system.
