video cameras

i'll ask this here since nobody seems to be reading the "relay" forum... i've got 2 onboard cameras installed, one draws 80mA the other 100mA-- do i need to bother using a relay for these? otherwise i'll just run them from a fused power source (15A?). thanks.

well, considering how small the current draw is (180mA total, which is .18A), you wouldn't want to use a power source with a 15A fuse. You'd probably want a 1A fuse, so maybe tap into your cigarette adaptor (just a recommendation but don't use T-taps, make a more solid connection by stripping the wire and soldering the camera's wires onto it and covering with either electrical tape or heat shrink) and add a fuse holder with a 1 amp fuse in between the cigarette lighter's power wire and the camera.Jon
